We’ve got a little over a month before Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc shows up in theaters. The huge numbers Demon Slayer Infinity Castle pulled in over the weekend have to be on Sony Pictures‘ mind right now. Could Chainsaw Man’s first theatrical outing generate that kind of response? We may find out as soon as tomorrow — the movie opens first in Japan on that date.
It’s been only a week since the domestic release of the latest trailer, but Sony‘s keeping the flame stoked with the reveal of a new poster for Reze Arc as well as a recap video for the series to date. You can find both if you keep scrolling.
Chainsaw Man may be a series known for violence, but the theme of Reze Arc is love. Denji, the part-man, part-chainsaw of the series, has nursed feelings for his boss Makima for some time, but never worked up the courage to ask her out until this movie. No sooner does he land a date, however, than he runs into Reze, an alluring barista who has him questioning if he should really go for Makima or for this new girl.
Don’t start shipping Denji and Reze just yet. Unfortunately the promo campaign kinda gives this away, but she’s a Devil in disguise with the power to create massive explosions. The real reason Reze has come onto Denji is to seduce him to her side. Things are about to get messy.
Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc stars Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Shiori Izawa as Pochita, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, Fairouz Ai as Power and Reina Ueda as Rezi. Tatsuya Yoshihara serves as director, and Studio MAPPA provides the animation. The movie opens first in Japan tomorrow, September 19, then everywhere else October 24.
