Bizarro: Year None #1 NOT Coming Out This April

-

Yet another iconic DC character has been announced as getting their own book next spring. Hot on the heels of the Zatanna and Firestorm announcements, it’s now been revealed they’ll be joined by a third book, a four-issue miniseries focused on Superman’s longstanding doppelganger who does and says the opposite of anything…Bizarro.

The plot is that Jimmy Olsen and Perry White enter Bizarro World, where they encounter the Bizarro Daily Planet. Upon exploring this new world, they make it their mission to track down who’s behind it. “Their journey leads them to a dimension that mirrors Metropolis in uncanny ways and reveres its legendary newspaper as an article of faith,” explains DC. “As they unravel the mystery of this bizarre world, they confront the being behind it all. Is he a misguided Superman fan, an agent of pure chaos, or is he no one at all?”

Written by Kevin Smith and Eric Carrasco, the mini promises to explain the “origin” of Bizarro, which of course has been told in numerous ways countless times. You can consider this one Smith’s version of the story….how Bizarro came to be in the Viewaskewniverse.

Bizarro himself was asked to give a quote for the press. “Me am NOT excited for new comic!” he said to the mikes. “Bizarro: Year None am worst thing to happen!”

Bizarro: Year None #1 will land in comics shops April 1, with the other three installments appearing monthly through July. Variant covers will be available by Frank Quitely, Fernando Pasarin, and Ibrahim Moustafa, plus a foil variant by Pitarra. Here’s just some of them….
