Crunchyroll proclaimed a lot of big announcements during their industry panel at Anime Expo this weekend, including the long-awaited second season of Goblin Slayer. They wouldn’t commit to a date for that one, but it’s expected before 2023 is through. They have acquired eight other series for US distribution as well:
They also revealed some trailers, which are now online. A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special was scheduled for October 2023 and Solo Leveling, a new series from A-1 pictures, was revealed for the first time.
Two announcements were made prior to the panel, during Fuji TV’s “+Ultra” Panel the previous day. Two anime were revealed there, which are both coming to Crunchyroll: KamiErabi GOD.app (from the creator of NieR) and Metallic Rouge (an original work from studio BONES in celebration of their 25th anniversary). The former will arrive October 2023 and the latter will show up January 2024.
Oh yeah, and…do you want an official crossover T-shirt between My Hero Academia and your favorite NBA team? Because it’s happening. A partnership between MHA, TOHO Animation, Crunchyroll, the NBA, NBALAB and Hyperfly will result in the streetwear shown below. Exclusive items from the collaboration will debut at NBA Con, held in Las Vegas from July 7-9. The full rollout will come to stores this fall.
