Angelyne, The Pre-Internet Influencer

-

Angelyne is a familiar name to people from Los Angeles, California, back in the 1980s. No one knows who she is, but she is famous because she promotes herself through billboards. No one knew who she was back then, but she was notable because of her billboards. Her signature looks are blonde hair, blue eyes, and bosoms that will make Dolly Parton look like a ballerina. The Pornstars of the 1980s might have seen her as an influence because they emulated her looks.

Angelyne paid for those billboards because she wanted to be famous

The Original Billboard of Angelyne

So who is this woman who promotes herself through the Billboards of California? Back in 1984, she is a Singer-actress who struggles through auditions, and she tries to find a way to advertise herself and rise to stardom. How did she afford to have Billboards to promote herself? Her Billboards did give her some opportunities that gave her a cult following. Some people say that Paris Hilton is the original influencer because she is popular because of being popular. Angelyne might actually be the original one before the Internet, and Social Media is a thing. Her Billboards made appearances in some movies and even an episode of the Simpsons.

Peacock produces an unauthorized Biopic of the Billboard Queen with Emmy Rossum playing Angelyne. The series will give us a whimsical take on the Singer’s life, who is ahead of her time. Emmy transformed by using Breastplate so she could be as curvy as the woman she plays. Rossum is committed to the role, so she deserves to win a similar award to the first name.

Angelyne Trailer

The Real Angelyne is such an interesting character because  she even tried to run for governor of California. She only got 18th place in the election but not bad for an Independent candidate.
