Crunchyroll just revealed its October physical release schedule, and though a large part of it consists of re-releases, they’re good ones that deserve to be back in the market. Both Afro Samurai and Afro Samurai: Resurrection will be released in their “Director’s Cut” versions October 22.
Here’s the irritating thing: for some reason the first Afro Samurai series is exclusive to Wal-Mart. Why, we have no idea. But the sequel is not, so you’ll have to buy from two different places to get the full run. The original Afro Samura (Director’s Cut) contains the following special features:

Other re-releases this fall include the excellent Outlaw Star as well as Ouran High School Host Club. But there will be some new-to-disc offerings too. The second half of Viland Saga Season 2 will finally see a Blu-Ray print on October 15 and come with promo videos and textless opening & ending songs.
