Your E3 2017 Schedule
E3 is almost here! Who will be releasing the big news first, and when? This is the order in which the world’s top game makers will be showing off their goods.
June 10: EA Games 12 p.m. PDT / 3 p.m. EDT
Expected: Chatter about their bread-and-butter sports titles (Madden, FIFA), the next Need For Speed game, and their next Star Wars project.
June 11: Microsoft 2 p.m. PDT / 5 p.m. EDT
Expected: Scorpio, and lots of it! Sony has a one-year head start with the PS4 Pro; Microsoft has to convince the buying public their upgrade is better. You can also expect the usual brown and grey FPS footage, but possibly another look at Rare’s comeback gambit Sea of Thieves (and, hopefully, some kind of release window).
Bethesda 9 p.m. PDT / 12 a.m. EDT
Expected: No one truly knows what to expect from Bethesda this year. Rumor has it they’ll be announcing something big, and they would have to given there’s nothing spectacular in their immediate future.
June 12: Ubisoft 1 p.m. PDT / 4 p.m. EDT
Expected: Assassin’s Creed: Origins, the existence of which was just leaked by a stray pre-order card that got into the wrong hands. Ubisoft already revealed Far Cry 5 a few weeks ago, and we’ll definitely be seeing more of it. There’s also this matter of a weird crossover between Mario and Ubisoft’s Rabbids franchise. It’s unknown which company will be showing off the first footage of that game, but Ubisoft’s conference is ahead of Nintendo’s.
Sony 6 p.m. PDT / 9 p.m. EDT
Expected: You can always count on Sony for a blend of mainstream AAA titles and quirky weird experiments (some of which we never see again). Unfortunately buzz holds that Kojima will not be showing anything new from his mysterious Death Stranding title. We have no idea if Shenmue 3 will make an appearance since that game was recently delayed into the fall of 2018. As far as Square goes, we’re more likely to see new footage of Kingdom Hearts 3 than Final Fantasy 7 Remake. There were also a lot of early games demoed during Sony’s last E3 that should be closer to completion now. Maybe we’ll see that thing called “Detroit” again.
June 13: Nintendo 9 a.m. PDT / 12 p.m. EDT
Expected: The unexpected. Nintendo has always been the most unpredictable of all the video game companies, and aside from a promised deep look at Super Mario Odyssey, we have no idea what to tell you. The cool thing about Nintendo, though, is that they usually launch smaller games and apps on the very day of their conferences, so as you watch, keep your 3DS and Switch handy for some goodies.
After the conferences are over, E3 officially opens from June 13th through the 15th.
