Yes, There Will Be Deluxe Versions Of Square’s Avengers Game
Square Enix has produced “Collectors Editions” of all its major AAA titles over the last few years, so it was only logical they would be doing the same for Marvel’s Avengers. The only thing keeping us from hearing about it was the repeated delays for the street date.
In a sign that must mean they’re confident enough to stick with September 2020 (we hope), Square revealed two limited-edition packages for Marvel’s Avengers today: one for people with a lotta cash, and one for people with a WHOLE lotta cash.
First there’s the Deluxe Edition. With the game, you get an exclusive Obsidian Outfit pack (six hero outfits), six exclusive Obsidian nameplates, and 72-hour early access.
But then we have Earth’s Mightiest Edition, a mammoth-sized box that packs in a Hulk Bobblehead, a Mjolnir Keychain, Black Widow’s Belt Buckle, Iron Man’s Prototype Amor Blueprints, Kamala Khan’s Honorary Avenger Pin, a commemorative Avengers group photo, full color 12” statue of Captain America by Gentle Giant, and the game (it should go without saying, but these days you never know). It also includes the Deluxe Edition content, including the 72-hour early access.
If you preorder any version of Marvel’s Avengers, you get guaranteed access to the Beta (at participating retailers), a Marvel Legacy Outfit pack, and an exclusive nameplate.
Square’s announcement lacks some specifics…for example, the price of either of these versions. They also tell us certain retailers will be offering their own exclusive preorder bonuses: either a limited-edition pin set, patch set, digital comic book, or SteelBook designed by legendary Marvel artist Mark Brooks. They won’t say which stores will be offering which item, so….if you want any of those things, it’d be wise to hold off for now.
Marvel’s Avengers will be flying inside your Playstation 4, XBox One or personal computer September 4.
