Xbox Games With Gold For April Announced
With April not too many days away, Microsoft have revealed the games that will make up the next month’s Games With Gold. As is usual, the collection comprises two Xbox One titles and two Xbox 360 titles, though all games are playable on the new console through backwards compatibility.
Starting from April 1, players can get their hands on Ryse: Son of Rome and Darksiders. For the second half of the month both The Walking Dead: Season Two and Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be available.
Ryse: Son of Rome has been one of the most requested Games With Gold titles since the program launched. The game was developed by Crytek and originally released as a launch title for the Xbox One. It sees players take on the role of Roman centurion Marius Titus in an alternate version of ancient Rome as he retells his life story. Featuring a third-person perspective and hack-and-slash gameplay, it was widely praised for its visuals and story but received criticism for its lackluster gameplay.
The inclusion of the second season of The Walking Dead is not much of a surprise considering the first season has already released through Games With Gold and that Telltale are releasing a new season. Meanwhile, Darksiders recently received a remastering so this could be seen as a way to tempt players to buy the latest version. Assassin’s Creed Revelations was the fourth instalment in the series and the last to feature Ezio as the main character.
