Watch The Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion Launch Trailer
Square Enix has put out what they claim is the FINAL trailer for Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion. Despite calling itself the “Launch Trailer” the game won’t actually be open for purchase for another two weeks.
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core is a prequel story about Zack Fair, Cloud’s old friend and member of SOLDIER, as well as a significant figure in his past. This past was only hinted at in the original Final Fantasy VII game. Crisis Core revealed everything about Zack and was the first game to allow fans to run through 3D representations of iconic locations like Shinra HQ and Loveless Square (which are closer to the original game’s design here than in Remake). We should mention that several significant scenes, including what was the final shot of the story, are in this trailer — it really assumes you played FFVII already or at least the original PSP Crisis Core. It WILL spoil some things for newcomers.
If you preorder the digital version of this game you will receive the SOLDIER Materia Set, which will allow you to cheat by giving you some powerful material earlier than you should have it — Dark Fire, Dark Thunder, and Dark Blizzard will be usable fairly early on. If you want to play fair, wait for launch.
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion was originally produced for the PSP and, until now, hasn’t been available to play anywhere else but there. This expanded edition with greatly improved graphics will ensure you can play it no matter what your system of choice is: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Look for it December 13.
