Watch A Special Sneak Peek Of Snowpiercer
If you’ve never seen the bleak post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer, you have no doubt at least heard of it. The flick, based on a series of graphic novels, was a cult sensation when it came out a few years ago. There is more than one GN, though, and there exist plenty of stories to tell beyond the movie. That’s why we’re getting a TV series!
TNT revealed this sneak-peek teaser for their Snowpiercer show at New York Comic-Con last weekend. It’s set to premiere in the spring of 2020 and will star Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Lena Hall, Sheila Vand, and Steven Ogg. The world is frozen over, and humanity now battles over one of the last habitable places — a fast-moving train that endlessly travels around the world.
Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a 1001 car, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the acclaimed movie and graphic novel series of the same name.
Snowpiercer (the show) comes to us from Tomorrow Studios and CJ Entertainment, the latter of whom produced the original film. Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements serve as executive producers, and running the show will be Graeme Manson, who also wrote the series pilot. Subsequent episodes will be directed by James Hawes; Matthew O’Connor and Scott Derrickson.
We’ll find out more about Snowpiercer as its release date gets closer. For now, we’ll have to wait through a winter of snow and ice for it to premiere in Spring 2020, ironically when the weather should be clearing up.
