Vin Diesel Hints at Starring Role in Marvel’s Inhumans
Vin Diesel has been dropping some pretty strong hints he’s in talks for, or at least wants to be in, a new Marvel movie franchise.
Diesel posted the above image, with the text “Are You Inhuman?” on his Facebook page. He’s also wearing a shirt with an Inhumans logo on it in the picture. Marvel plans a film based around the Inhumans for 2018.
Diesel had also tweeted in August that “I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman … Haha.”
The Inhumans are an offbeat Jack Kirby and Stan Lee creation that debuted in the early issues of the Fantastic Four, a race of superhumans who, usually, live on the moon and are enhanced by the mysterious Terrigen Mists.
Most of their adventures center around the Inhuman royal family, including its king, Black Bolt, a man whose voice can shatter mountains, his queen Medusa, who can move stuff with her hair, Black Bolt’s brother Maximus the Mad, who is as it says on the tin a madman and often tries to usurp the throne, and the rest of the royal court. Oh, and their teleporting dog, Lockjaw.
The Hollywood Reporter speculates that Diesel is most likely angling to play the lead role of Black Bolt. Because Black Bolt can’t speak without destroying everything around him, that might mean he’s found a Marvel role where he has less lines than “I am Groot” in the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Of course, they could be wrong, he could be playing Lockjaw.
