Venom Movie Gets Full Trailer
Despite the Marvel Cinematic Universe having access to Spider-Man, who will return for Avengers: Infinity War in just a few days. Sony still owns the rights to the other characters in his universe. As such, they’re going to be releasing a film based on his rival Venom. The teaser trailer focused mostly on Eddie Brock, who is the host for the symbiote. But no footage of the legendary villain/anti-hero was shown. Now though, a new full-length trailer was shown, and it changes everything.
First off, we get confirmation that the film features Eddie as a reporter, and he’s investigating a group called the “Life Foundation”, which is a reference to a famous comic storyline starring called Lethal Protector. Apparently, he’s investigating them because they’re using vulnerable people as test subjects. He gets approached to investigate the symbiote and gets infected by it.
Naturally, this is where the good stuff kicks in. We get to see the effects the Symbiote has on Eddie’s mind. It has its own distinct voice, and can not only project itself out of his body, he can control his body in many ways, which comes in handy when the Life Foundation seeks him out to get their “property” back.
And by the end, Venom is born, and he looks just like his comic book counterpart. Complete with creepy tongue.
The film arrives on October 5th.
