ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove Surpasses Kickstarter Pledge Goal
Humanature Studios’ Kickstarter campaign for a new ToeJam and Earl video game, ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove has reached its pledge goal of $400,000. With less than two days before the Kickstarter campaign was to end, the project has received over $423,000. In other words, the new game has been funded and Humanature has proclaimed Back in the Groove will get made.
This will be the first ToeJam and Earl video game since ToeJam and Earl III: Mission to Earth, which was released as an Xbox exclusive in 2002. The title was not a great seller and received mixed reviews. Earlier this month, Humanature Studios released a very early demo for the developer’s prototype for the new game. The video is narrated by Greg Johnson, who designed all the ToeJam and Earl video games in the franchise.
Currently, it is very possible for the game to meet its first stretch goal of $425,000, which includes old school skins for ToeJam and Early. Unfortunately, the stretch goals for the game to possibly get console releases for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U were not met. So it seems only a Windows PC, MAC, and Linux versions are in the immediate future for the game at the moment. But the news is sure to make fans of the franchise happy.
