tinyBuild Acquires Three Indie Studios
Like a lot of other, larger publishers we could name, tinyBuild has been on a studio-buying tear lately, gobbling up indie dev studios like Dynamic Pixels (Hello Neighbor), Hologryph (Party Hard 2) and HakJak Studios (Guts & Glory). This week they revealed they’ve acquired THREE more: We’re Five Games (Totally Reliable Delivery Service), Hungry Couch (Black Skylands), and Moon Moose (Cartel Tycoon).
Here’s what made tinyBuild so interested in each of them. We’re Five Games was responsible for Totally Reliable Delivery Service, an online multiplayer game about terrible delivery drivers. The game was launched in April of last year for consoles, mobile and PC, and has since generated over 14 million downloads. They’re currently working on an updated version of Totally Reliable, due out exactly one year after the original (April 1, 2021).
Hungry Couch has just one game, but it’s still a work in progress and tinyBuild’s resources will allow the small team to make it bigger. Black Skylands will be turned into an open-world RPG and should be out for PC sometime in the second quarter of 2021.
Moon Moose is a team of five programmers in Russia working on Cartel Tycoon, a cartel management sim. It’s scheduled to be published on PС sometime in the next few months. “We were impressed by the quality level the team could produce, and after seeing the first visual of Cartel Tycoon…we determined they would be a good fit with us,” says Alex Nichiporchik, CEO of tinyBuild.
The tinyBuild publishing company as a whole now consists of seven developers…who may not be as large right now as guys like Bethesda, but just wait.
