Third Maze Runner Delayed Again Due To Key Injury
The Maze Runner trilogy may not have run up the box office like other box-to-move adaptations, but it has made a name for itself with the original and with its sequel The Scorch Trials. However, the third movie, Death Cure, is on very shaky ground, as it’s star, Dylan O’Brien, suffered an injury, delaying production. Now, we’re hearing that the injury is much more severe than originally let on. As The Hollywood Reporter found out:
“His injuries are very serious and he needs more time to recover,” said O’Brien’s publicist Jennifer Allen. Fox said in a statement, “The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O’Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible,”
It’s unclear how long it will take O’Brien to recover, and how this will continue to affect the production of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure. The movie was slated for a February 2017 release date. With that very likely not happening due to this injury, it will interesting to see where Fox is forced to put it.
