The Royal Treatment, Mena Massoud’s comeback film
The Royal Treatment is the follow up movie Mena Massoud had been waiting for. As of the writing of this article, The live-action adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin made $1.051 billion in the box office. For some unknown reason, he is not getting any acting offers after the film’s success. Before he snagged the role of the Prince of Thieves, He was playing negative stereotype roles. Hollywood is supposed to be woke now so there should be a space for him. Especially if she starred in a successful movie. His Co-stars Will Smith and Naomi Scott got opportunities after the film.
To make it worst, Billy Magnussen who only appeared for a few minutes on the movie is getting a Disney Plus spin-off for his character Prince Anders. Aladdin is confirmed to have an upcoming sequel but that will be a lot of years of waiting. Disney Plus should be the one who is giving him opportunities after the money he gave them but It is Netflix who gave him the opportunity.
Here is an old interview of him about not getting any auditions post Aladdin.
Now Netflix finally gave him a follow-up movie, while waiting for his sequel. It is not as grand as Aladdin but at least it keeps him visible.
