The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Opens Today In Theaters
I truly don’t know how many movies are out there about quintuplets, but someone has stepped up to the challenge of making the QUINTESSENTIAL movie about quintuplets, the one that shames all the rest, the One Quintuplets Movie to Rule Them All. The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie was made in Japan but arrives today in the US.
If you want to know what this REALLY is, it’s the theatrical conclusion to a harem anime that has already gone through two seasons on television. The formula hasn’t changed since Tenchi so you get the idea: multiple lovesick girls after one panicky man. They’ve been trying to individually woo Futaro, their high school tutor, for a few years now. In this case though they’re all related so only ONE of them can truly win Futaro in the end. The movie will answer who that is.
Since the manga was introduced, “The Quintessential Quintuplets” has soared in popularity with fans around the world eagerly following the adventures of five sisters all trying to catch the eye and hand of Futaro. The manga which launched in 2019 has sold over 16 million copies in 2022. In May 2022, “The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie” was released in Japan and grossed over $16.4 million at the Japanese box office. The film was also nominated in eight categories for the 2022 Newtype Anime Awards including Best Picture.
The English cast includes Lindsay Seidel voicing oldest sister Ichika Nakano, Jill Harris voicing second sister Nino Nakano, Felecia Angelle voicing third sister Miku Nakano, Bryn Apprill voicing fourth sister Yotsuba Nakano, Tia Ballard voicing fifth sister Itsuki Nakano, Josh Grelle voicing character of Futaro Uesugi and Terri Doty voicing the younger character of Futaro.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie starts playing today; check your local listings for the showing nearest you.
