The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Final Trailer
In exactly one month we’ll finally be able to lose ourselves in Hyrule once more. The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom releases May 12, and today Nintendo released what they say will be the final look at the game before it comes out.
The trailer is a lot to take in, and will inspire a lot of fan theories over the next few weeks, but there is one obvious element that needs no explanation: Ganon is confirmed back. Apparently Link’s previous victory over Calamity Ganon didn’t take, but that’s no surprise if you know anything about the series. He always comes back, he just showed up earlier than anyone expected this time. And he’s in his “dorf” form again, which is when he’s more of a human than a pig monster. As for Zelda, she doesn’t do much besides repeatedly say ‘Liiiink!” in a worried British voice.
The four heroes from Hyrule’s various races will also return from Breath of the Wild, now a bit older (this confirms the time between the events of the two games is not that long, and that this is the same Link from the previous game). We can see Prince Sidon of the Zora, Lady Riju of the Gerudo and others in various clips. Tulin of the Rito, who was a child in BOTW, appears a bit more grown up here.
The best thing about Tears of the Kingdom will be Link’s new ability to build anything out of materials he can find. Using powers of fusion and levitation, it’s possible to create working vehicles, boats, aircraft, ridiculously oversized weapons, and pretty much anything else you want. It’s going to be amazing, not just messing with this but watching what others create with it in online videos.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom comes out May 12. Clear your schedule!
