The Last Remnant Rescued With 10th Anniversary Remastered Version
Last week Square Enix removed their 2008 game The Last Remnant from Steam, with just a day’s warning. The erasure gained attention and protests. Now, thanks to massive fan outcry, the game will now be restored with improved graphics and sound! ….Actually Square planned to do that from the beginning; they just never told anyone why the original was being removed.
The Last Remnant is now ten years old and overdue for a new coat of paint. This updated version of the action RPG, coming first to Playstation 4 this holiday season, contains the exact same content you remember, only upgraded with Unreal Engine 4.
THE LAST REMNANT Remastered tells the story of a world filled with “Remnants” — ancient artefacts that grant mysterious power to their wielders, changing the world’s balance and leading to an era of countless frays between those who ruled, and those who obeyed. Within this war-torn fantasy world, players will follow the journey of a young man who is determined to uncover the truth.
We do have to mention that Square’s press release says nothing about a PC version of this. it surely must be an oversight since they wouldn’t remove the game from Steam without planning its replacement. If the truth is more bonkers, we’ll let you know.
The Last Remnant comes to Playstation 4 this December, at a budget price of $19.99.
