The Kingdom Hearts Mobile Game Shall Be Rebooted
Last year, around this time, Square-Enix put out a Kingdom Hearts mobile game called Kingdom Hearts Mobile Adventure. Okay, that wasn’t really the title, and you knew that because it wasn’t confusing enough. The actual title was KINGDOM HEARTS Unchained χ.
Ever since the launch, Square has been working on an upgrade for the app, and now it’s nearly ready. It adds a new multiplayer mode, new missions, and new ways for teams to communicate, as well as a more robust avatar creator. The upgrade is such an improvement that the app is going to be retitled, to something less confusing……ha! It’s really being retitled KINGDOM HEARTS Union χ[Cross]. Brackets included.
With KINGDOM HEARTS Union χ[Cross], players can create teams of six from their party members or through a matchmaking feature to fight hordes of Heartless enemies and powerful bosses. Players can also take on quests of increasing difficulty as well as unique new missions. To help these teams of friends communicate with each other, the game will now include emotes and text bubbles. Players will encounter both familiar and new faces as the story of the Unions continues to unfold, and the new “Theater Mode” will allow players to relive the drama and rewatch cutscenes.
If you have the app already, the update will come to you, but if you “pre-register” on the official website, you’ll be given some exclusive in-game presents when you log onto the new version for the first time, as well as some new downloadable wallpapers.
There’s no release date for the new version yet, but Square will be giving fans a sneak peek inside their booth at PAX East. Early visitors will receive some special buttons and a poster featuring the artwork of Tetsuya Nomura, while supplies last.
