The First Brief Clips From Game Of Thrones Final Season
The most anticipated television event of 2019, by far, is the final six episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones. A landmark series that changed the face of television and inspired countless knockoffs, the last season is tantalizingly described as “six movies.”
“It’s a spectacle. The guys have done six movies. The reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie,’” HBO CEO Richard Plepler told the press during an event. “They knew the bar was high. They’ve exceeded the bar. I’ve watched them twice without any CGI and I’m in awe. Everybody’s in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production.”
He said “magical” twice! It must be REALLY good!
I hate to point this out, but no matter how epic and awe-inspiring these final battles are, a LOT of how the finale is perceived on the Internet will depend on the answer to the question the entire series is based upon: who seizes power in Westeros in the end. No matter who it is, there will undoubtedly be fans who wanted someone else and they’ll whine, “WORST FINALE EVER!” Which is petty, but….that’s humans for you. Be prepared; the backlash is inevitable.
Here’s what we do know: at some point, Sansa marches up to Daenerys and tells her, “Winterfell is yours.” We know this because it’s the solitary clip released within this promotional ad for HBO’s 2019 lineup:

Jon Snow, being half-Stark, is heir to Winterfell’s throne. That makes it Dani’s by extension since they’ve coupled up…also, the pair are related and don’t know it, because this is Game of Thrones and all. Having a base ready to support her in Westeros will help Dani with her ultimate goal of conquering it….if the invading ice zombies don’t just wipe out everyone first.
We didn’t get a straight trailer because HBO has other business investments they want us to consider first (no thanks). But as we approach the season’s rumored April release date, we’ll no doubt see more than just a meeting between two royals.
