The Curse of Turandot Trailer:
Dylan Sprouse will star in a Wuxia film titled The Curse of Turandot. Wuxia is a fantasy genre in Chinese Cinema with an Ancient period setting. He announced on his Instagram account that he learned how to speak Mandarin for six months. Dylan Sprouse also got training in Sword Fighting and horseback riding. Meanwhile, his twin Cole Sprouse is a lead cast member in Riverdale. The brothers started as child stars in the Disney Zack & Cody sitcom franchise. They started as children on that show, which concluded in their teens. Sprouse had lay low from the spotlight because of his studies, but he did some Indie films. This is his most significant break, even if it’s outside Hollywood.
He sports long blonde hair in the film, which makes him look different from his brother.
The Curse of Turandot is about a Princess who got cursed by three bracelets.
Despite being a Wuxia film, this movie is an Italian opera adaptation. Sprouse will be one of the Princes who will try to cure the Curse of Turandot. Princes around the world will try to free her from her curse by solving the riddles from the bracelets. They won’t be singing in this movie, though.
I hope the woke Twitter mob will not attack him and accuse him of whitewashing and cultural appropriation. This is not a Hollywood movie.
It’s a Chinese film written and directed by Chinese people. They have the right to make movies with foreign actors on them. Matt Damon’s The Great Wall was accused of being a White Savior movie. That film was about a Roman Soldier who joined a Chinese soldier in defending the Great Wall of China from monsters. Despite the Chinese characters shown, they were capable, and he is more of a support.
