The Craft Legacy coming on Video on Demand
It has been twenty-four years since the Supernatural horror film the craft graced our screens. For a budget of $15 million, this supernatural flix only made $55 million in the box office. It became a cult classic throughout the years and developed a loyal fanbase. There had been plans for sequels and remakes in the past but they all got cancelled.
This film inspired the creation of Katy Perry’s hit song Darkhorse.
In a way, it influential to pop culture. The original film is about a group of outcast teenage girls who dabbled into dark magic. They tried reviving an old demon to get more power. The sequel will focus on a new coven of aspiring witches.
The Craft legacy was originally going to be a remake of 1996 original, but the creators of this film decided to change it into a sequel instead. There will be references to the events of the original on this sequel. The trailer shows a polaroid picture of Nancy from the original film attacking Sarah. Are the girls from this sequel going to have the same fate as the original coven? Do these girls have any relation with characters from the past?
This sequel will be available as a premium video on demand on the 28th of October. Just right in time for the coming Halloween season. It will be available for rental for $19.99 to $24.99 depends on the platform. Much more affordable than Disney Plus’ Mulan for sure. In territories where Coronavirus is no longer a problem, it will have a theatrical release.
As a homage to the original, it will also be about four outcast teenage girls who will try to learn witchcraft. The movie stars Cailee Spaeny, Lovie Simone, Gideon Adlon, and Zoey Luna. Zoey Luna is a trans actress, and her character will be one too.
Trivia: Angelina Jolie and Alicia Silverstone got almost cast on the original.
