Telltale Games Reveals New Batman, Walking Dead, and Wolf Among Us Games
Following up from their Twitter tease that they had some significant news to share at San Diego Comic-Con, Telltale Games has announced they are working on three brand new games. They include the fourth and final season of The Walking Dead, a second season of Batman, and a second series of The Wolf Among Us.
Most surprising of the announcements was the reveal that the company is working in a new game in the Fables franchise. The team’s communications officer, Job Stauffer, had recently moved to dampen fans excitement at a possible The Wolf Among Us sequel, suggesting that the studio would love to work with the series again at some point in the future.
The new game will once again focus on the exploits of Bigby Wolf and Snow White from Bill Willingham Fables comic series. However, it won’t be a traditional sequel and will not resolve the ending of the first game that was intentionally left open-ended. The game will instead see the same cast of characters return in a brand new adventure. Telltale expects the first episode to launch at some point in the second half of 2018.
As previously revealed in a leaked rating from new Zealand, the new Batman game is Batman: The Enemy Within. The new episodes will directly follow the previous season and choices made by players can be carried over to the new story. The developer describes the new game as:
“In this latest chapter, both Bruce Wayne and Batman will be forced into precarious new roles. The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions. Which of Batman’s new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?”
The fourth season of The Walking Dead will be the last in the franchise. It will see players taking back control of Clementine, the protagonist from the first two seasons rather than the new character introduced in the third.
“It’s going to be an amazing experience. Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart,” said Melissa Hutchison, the award-winning actress who has been the voice of ‘Clementine’ since 2012. “It’s been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and so much love has been behind this whole experience. Good luck, I’ll be right there with you.”
