Teen Titans GO! To The Movies Gets Brand New Trailer
Teen Titans GO! is a bit divisive in the DC Comics fanbase. On one hand, the show is intended to be funny and comedic, and tailored to kids, and it’s been very successful through that. But, for those who loved the classic Teen Titans cartoon, the show is seen as an insult. So, when Teen Titans GO! To The Movies was announced as a full-length film, the divisiveness continued. Especially with the first teaser trailer. Now though, a brand new trailer has arrived, and it paints the film in a slightly different light.
The point of the film is simple, Robin and the rest of the Titans feel that they deserve to be in a movie, but, no one takes them seriously, not even Superman (who we get to hear voiced by Nicolas Cage for the first time). So, to right this wrong, they decide to go and find an arch-villain. Who turns out to be Slade (the arch-villain from the original Teen Titans series, also known as Deathstroke), but, Slade is no pushover, and he has a plan to control all the heroes in the world. And now, only the Titans can save the world…maybe.
The trailer itself is full of references to both good and bad superhero movies, and how studios are making movies “about every superhero ever”, which it does seem like that at times. And while they do poke fun at Marvel a few times, they’re more than happy to poke fun at DC Comics as well.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the film does when Teen Titans GO! To The Movies arrives on July 27th.
