One developer who seems to not have that problem with finding the right balance of content for video game expansions is Bungie with their game Destiny. In the upcoming major expansion The Taken King, gamers are not only getting a new batch of story missions, and the biggest raid in the game ever, but it’ll apparently also have a huge boost in arsenal gear.
“We’ve got more weapons and gear than were in the shipping game back in September 2014,” Bungie community and marketing relations manager Eric “Urk” Osborne told IGN.
This new gear will apparently include a bunch of new exotics, some of which were teased at Gamescom 2015 in the story demo shown to IGN as well. Bungie has been working hard to ensure that not only that these exotics are good, but that they’ll be wanted by players. “We’ve got this existing set, and we’ve got a grounding that we know players love,” Osborne added, saying Bungie is using that knowledge “to build some really cool stuff.”
Destiny: The Taken King releases later next month on September 15. The expansion will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. A collector’s edition featuring all the content released so far for the game will also be available.
