Here’s a comparison of the same area in Watch Dogs that was shown back at E3 2012 to the final version of the game.
In a post on their official site, Mojang has revealed that Minecraft will be releasing for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in August. The developers had previously announced that they were looking to bring the game to next generation consoles sometime this year, but have now given official confirmation. The game was released on Xbox 360 in 2012 and a PlayStation 3 release followed in 2013. Both we scaled down versions of the main game, featuring much of the same content but in a smaller world map. The next gen editions of both games feature “significantly bigger worlds” and much larger draw distances, bringing the game closer to its PC counter-part. It will retail on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network for $19.99. If you’ve bought Minecraft on a predecessor console then you will be able to simply upgrade rather than buy the full edition. Xbox 360 owners can upgrade to the Xbox One version for $4.99 while PlayStation 3 owners can also do the same on the
For a city that has about three million residents living in it right now, Watch Dogs, it’s game version counter-part seems to be lacking in numbers with reports even stating that streets have gone completely empty. Now of course we weren’t expecting that said number of players, but from everything that’s been shown in videos and images, it appears that this once busy city has been crippled to a near empty lot. This of course comes with more confirmation since the PC version has been leaked, with people taking to the forums and actually complaining about this. You can view some screenshots below, which clearly shows a very empty Chicago in an area that should have hundreds of hundreds (or at least more than a few) of civilians walking in broad daylight. This of course also goes against their very own statement of them saying it wasn’t ‘dumb’ down from the E3 reveal, which you can watch below. . As you can see in the footage the streets are flooded

It seems that video sharing giant, Youtube, is gearing up to expand it’s services with the possible acquisition of popular video game streaming service, Twitch. According to a report made by Variety, Youtube may have struck a deal to acquire TwitchTV for $1 billion dollars. Their source says that once the agreement is final, an announcement will be made about it. It is though, according to the source, very early in the stage. This really doesn’t come to much of a surprise as int he recent years Youtube has grown immensely popular with the gaming channels they offer.
Far Cry 4 Announced Far Cry 4 has finally been officially announced by Ubisoft. Over the past months there has been widespread speculation that Far Cry 4 was in development, as well as rumours that the game would be set in the Himalayas. Ubisoft confirmed that the game is in development at Ubisoft Montreal and that the speculated location of the game was correct – Far Cry 4 will be set in the Himalayas, more specifically in Kyrat. Ubisoft also offered a release date for Far Cry 4, which will be released on PlayStation 3 & 4, XBox 360 & Xbox One, as well as Windows PC. Far Cry 4 will launch on November 18th in the US, followed by November 20th in EMEA territory. It seems Ubisoft has omitted the Wii U from another major release, dealing the struggling console another blow, even though Ubisoft Montreal’s last game, Child of Light, was released on the Nintendo console. After a good deal of speculation over the last couple of days, Ubisoft has finally revealed the actual specifications that Watch_Dogs will run at. The PlayStation 4 version will run at a resolution of 900p while the Xbox One version will see the resolution capped at 762p. Both versions of the title will run at 30 frames per second. This has disappointed a number of gamers who were expecting the game to have a frame rate of 60 frames per second to run at 1080p. Gamers had become worried that the resolution of Watch_Dogs had been downgraded after Ubisoft removed the “1080p” claim from the games website. However, Jonathan Morin of Ubisoft explained that lowering the resolution was the result of trying to give gamers the best experience possible. “People tend to look at corridor shooters, for example, where there’s a corridor and all the effects are on and it’s unbelievable, and they forget that if you apply those same global effects to an open city with people around and
Earlier this week Take Two, publisher for the Grand Theft Auto and Borderlands series’ and other games under the Rockstar and 2K Games labels, announced their Quarter 4 2013 financial reports. The reports provided confirmation that GTA V has now shipped a colossal 33 million copies and reached more than $1 billion in sales as well as impressive sales figures for Borderlands 2 and Bioshock Infinite, shipping 9 million and 6 million units respectively. Take Two also confirmed its release slate for the current fiscal year which was mostly comprised of announced and expected games, although there was one rather large surprise involved – Rockstar Games, developers of the GTA series, will be releasing an as yet unannounced game on next-gen systems (PS4 and Xbox One) before the fiscal year is over. Several possibilities have cropped up, including repeated information regarding a GTA V port to the new generation of consoles, although it’s hard to image a new version of the game being released while the PS3 and Xbox 360
According to ARS Technica Microsoft are set to remove the Xbox Live Gold requirement for entertainment apps. Currently users must have paid account in order to access apps like Netflix, YouTube and Hulu. However, multiple sources have confirmed to the site that this will no longer be the case, allowing those with free accounts access. Both of Microsoft’s direct competitors allow entertainment apps to be used without a premium account. This has given PlayStation 3 & 4 users, along with Wii owners, to stream TV shows and movies without having to pay an extra cost. This has been a major sticking point for gamers for a number of years now. They believe that Microsoft is unfairly forcing them to pay extra costs. The company has also come into conflict with content creators such as the BBC, who wanted their iPlayer app to be available to non-paying customers. Although it did eventually release on the Xbox 360, it came about 4 years later than the PS3 version. A decision that was
It’s been a while since we heard anything related to MGS5: The Phantom Pain, and while this is simply a rumor, voice actor Lori Alan (The Boss, MGS3) may actually be working on the title.
UPDATE: Sony deletes claim regarding Watch Dogs running at 60 frames per second and in 1080p.
