Remember the documentary where Barney’s voice actor gets death threats? The friendly high, pitched voice can be delightful to children, but to teens and adults, it’s torturing. The characters of shows marketed to toddlers also tend to have these big soulless eyes. Amanda the Adventurer feels like a love child between Dora The Explorer, Doki Doki Literature Club, and The Ring. This Independent horror game has captured the internet like a storm. Almost every single popular videogame streamer and their grandma has been playing it. I spent two days of my life trying to unlock every ending of this disturbing horror game. It is scary, but the puzzles and the lore make me want to open every possible ending there. The replay value captures my focus, and I want to keep playing until I know all its mysteries. You
