Here’s something we didn’t expect to see today. Remember Westworld? That show that had an amazing first season, a weak second season, a somewhat better seasons 3 and 4, and then HBO pretended like they never heard of it? You can’t find Westworld on Max today. The episodes have been banished to a FAST service where you’ll be interrupted at random intervals for commercial pitches.
To everyone who dismissed the anguish from animation fans over what HBO Max was doing last summer, and commented “they’ll never remove the important stuff, as in the stuff I personally care about”….how do you feel NOW? We warned you nothing was safe. Variety reports wicked emperor David Zaslav is about to remove the HBO hit Westworld from HBO Max, and of course the company won’t tell you when, just that it’s soon.
Westworld, the future attraction wherein rich people go to play pretend cowboy, is shuttering its doors for good. Declining business may have been a factor, but the robot uprising probably also had something to do with it.
I first became familiar with my next interview subject, Mindi Miller, when I saw her posting to the pages of a mutual Facebook friend named Terry Soto. Mindi struck me as a very intriguing individual, and as I looked up more about her, I was fascinated. Among other things, Mindi Miller has been an actress, a model, a bodybuilder and a skin care esthetician. In addition to all of that, she also dated Elvis Presley for a time.
At San Diego Comic Con, the first trailer for Season 02 of HBO’s adaptation of Westworld debuted, much to the delight of fans. And in it we saw a lot of familiar faces, as well as teases as to what’s to come. And yes, it appears there’s going to be a lot more action, a lot more death, and a lot more questions being asked and answered. No officially release date, but, the trailer states that Westworld will return in 2018. https://youtu.be/phFM3V_dors
Westworld only has two episodes so far, but fans and critics are already in love with the new HBO series. At New York Comic Con, the cast and crew talked about the show, and revealed some interesting things. First off, creator Jonathan Nolan revealed that he and co-creator Lisa Joy were already planning season 02 of the series, even though it hasn’t even been renewed yet. Likely, they’re doing this to not only “break in” the show as they stated at the panel, but because of the big response of the premiere. A fan question asked about whether the other “parks” from the original Westworld movie would be featured at some point in Westworld, to which Nolan said “no”. But he said it with a grin, so while it may not be there for the first season, it may not be out of the realm of possibility.
HBO has finally released a trailer for the upcoming Westworld Series. The new series will be premiering on HBO in October. You can check out the video, that features some new footage, in the player below. The show is a reboot of the classic 1973 sci-fi movie. The film saw lifelike cyborgs for a futuristic theme park running amok. The original starred Yul Brynner as The Gunslinger. The new show stars Academy Award Winner Anthony Hopkins. It looks like it has an A-list cast and pedigree so far. It should be interesting to see how the film approaches the original film and how it will ultimately have to find its own way. Westworld arrives on HBO on October 2 at 9:00 pm EST. Here’s an official synopsis for the new vision of Westorld.
