SDCC 2023: Watchmen, Crisis To Become Animated Movies
Most of DC’s animated superhero movies of late have been adaptions of famous one-shot stories from their library…and they’re kind of running out of them. Their next two projects were announced at SDCC this weekend, and both of them have been adapted before in other media. Crisis On Infinite Earths and Watchmen will be released in 2024. The latter, of course, was adapted as a live-action movie by Zack Snyder in 2009, and how you feel about it pretty much depends on your opinion of Snyder as a whole. Then it was continued in the form of an HBO miniseries (WHICH WAS EXCELLENT). Crisis was adapted in 2019 by Greg Berlanti to serve as the ultimate shining moment of the Arrowverse, with all his shows (and many others) coming together to fight one threat.
