Electronic Arts and Visceral Games have officially announced a new DLC expansion for Battlefield Hardline with Battlefield Hardline: Betrayal. EA has today revealed that their subscription service EA Access will be receiving a brand new game in the Vault in October. Battlefield Hardline, the latest game in the franchise, will join its predecessor Battlefield 4 from next month, though the publisher hasn’t given any details on what exact date the title will be available from. The game has only been available since March, meaning that it will only have been at retail for five months before its inclusion in EA Access.
2015 will see the release of EA and DICE’s reboot of the Star Wars Battlefront franchise. However, a game that is arguably far more anticipated will be a new Star Wars action game from EA and Visceral, the developer behind the Dead Space franchise. What is more, the game is being directed by former visionary game developer and Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig. During a panel at the recent Metrocon, actor and Uncharted franchise star Nolan North revealed some tidbits on the upcoming Star Wars game Hennig is involved in. There has been virtually no news on the game, other than the announcement that Hennig had joined the project with Visceral last year. Electronic Arts and Visceral Games have provided The Paranoid Gamer with the full details for the new exclusive membership program Battlefield Hardline Premium. According to the official announcement, the new service offers players new content and early access to Battlefield Hardline super features. More details and a new trailer for the service are available below.
Battlefield Hardline Premium will offer players access to new super features, including Masks, Gun Bench, Competitive Play and Legendary Status. In addition, members will receive two-week early access to game’s four story-themed digital expansion packs. The membership is set to also include monthly rewards and access to in-game events and items.

The price point for premium membership will run you $50. Battlefield Hardline hits the shelves later this month on March 17 in North America and on March 20 in Europe. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Origin for Windows PC.
Players wanting to get a shot at an early run on Battlefield Hardline will get that opportunity next month. Electronic Arts and Visceral Games announced this week that a trial version of the game will be available exclusively for EA Access members on March 12.
The free trial version offers players 10 hours of gameplay for both multiplayer and single-player content. Players will have the opportunity to check out the prologue and first episode of the single-player campaign. All of Battlefield Hardline’s multiplayer modes and maps will be available to play. In addition, EA has confirmed that all the progress from the trial version will be carried over to the game at launch.
The new free trial version comes off the heels of the recent beta version, which was available earlier this month. As previously reported, Visceral Games announced that over seven million people played the beta for Hardline. It appears that anticipation is heavy for this new iteration of Battlefield inspired by crime and police thrillers.

Speaking to Gamesindustry.biz, DICE producer David Sirland has said that the studio is aware how they have lost the trust of some of their players following the difficult launch of Battlefield 4 last year. Sirland admitted that the franchise brand had been damaged by the issues that stopped many players enjoying the game and that they were doing everything they could to make sure that there would be no repeat in the future.
Visceral Games, the developer behind games the hit series Dead Space, has stated that it is working hard to ensure that Battlefield: Hardline does not repeat the problems that plagued Battlefield 4 at launch. Speaking in an interview with Game Revolution at the Tokyo Game Show, creative director Ian Milham went into detail about the steps the studio is taking to make sure that the game works as intended at launch.
