Square Enix Confirms Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

Square Enix has confirmed that Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be released on October 14 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Just earlier this week, an Amazon listing leaked the release date, but Square Enix has officially confirmed that the Definitive Edition, which is a re-mastered update of the critically acclaimed Sleeping Dogs which released in 2012, will include a total of 24 pieces of downloadable content, including the story-extending episode Year of the Snake and the horror-themed add-on Nightmare In North Point. “It was an exciting opportunity for the original development team to be able revisit a game we’re so passionate about”, said Dan Sochan, Senior Producer at United Front Games. “We’re giving old and new fans a lot reasons to pick up the game, as we’ve gone beyond just increasing resolution and running at 1080p. We listened to the fans: we tuned gameplay, we added to the ambience of Hong Kong, increased audio fidelity and pushed the visuals further than we could on the previous generation

Sleeping Dogs Coming To PS4 and Xbox One

According to a listing on Amazon, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 14. If you pre-order the Definitive Edition, you will receive the limited edition artbook packaging, which includes 28 pages of concept art, and all the downloadable content from the original game. Sleeping Dogs originally released in August 2012 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Developed by United Front Games, Sleeping Dogs is an open world action game that takes place in Hong Kong, with players assuming control of Wei Shen, an officer of the San Francisco Police Department, on duty at the Hong Kong Police Force with a mission to infiltrate the Triad society and destroy them.  United Front Games has yet to confirm the release date for the Definitive Edition, we’ll update you when we hear more.

Developed by United Front Games in collaboration with Square Enix London Studios, Sleeping Dogs will be available in the second half of 2012 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.
