Where’s Tiana?
Back in 2020, as we were all quarantining (the sensible among us, anyway), Disney announced a ton of new extended adventures for its animated movie characters. Baymax, Dug, the Zootopia crew, the Cars bunch and Princess Tiana would all be starring in either new short features or, in the case of Tiana, a full self-titled TV series. It’s now 2023 and most of those attractions have been released to Disney+, except one. Where’s Tiana? We finally got some news about that show this morning, which is both good and bad depending on how you look at it. Good because we now know who the lead writer is. It’s Joyce Sherri, whose recent writing credits include the Netflix horror miniseries “Midnight Mass” and a few short films. She’s now been hired to helm the Tiana project. The news is also bad because…this means they’re just NOW hiring a lead writer for this show, which means they HAVEN’T been actually making it! Variety suggests we could still see Tiana premiere in 2024,
