It’ll still be a while before the next chapter of The Witcher appears on Netflix — and just so we’re clear, Henry Cavill WILL be in that season; it’s already been filmed. It’s the FOURTH season in which he’ll be abruptly replaced. We’ll see how things go from there. But there’s a Witcher of a different flavor coming before anything else: a four-part miniseries set 1,200 years BG (Before Geralt). The Witcher: Blood Origin will reveal how the Witcher bloodline got started. Here’s a hint: it had something to do with Michelle Yeoh. Yeoh plays a sword-elf named Scian who is searching for a stolen magical blade. When you’re a sword-elf, swords are kind of your whole thing. On her quest she’ll cross paths with monsters, mortals and other, less friendly elven folk. Evidently something happens that necessitates the creation of a special new race dedicated to defending the land from monsters. THE WITCHER: BLOOD ORIGIN is coming to Netflix. This is a prequel nobody asked for, but we can’t deny though that we needed this in our life.Netflix found a goldmine with their adaptation of the Andrzej Sapkowski novels and videogame franchise The Witcher. This prequel is not an adaptation of the Book. It is a stand-alone original prequel with approval from Sapkowski. The First 2 seasons became smash hits and one of the most-watched programs on the platform. Season 3 of The Witcher is currently in the works. Netflix has tendencies to cancel shows so reaching the 3rd season is a great achievement. Especially for a high-budget project. Henry Cavill being a fan of the franchise helped him give justice for his role as Geralt. I think TV series make better adaptations for Video Games than movies. You cannot compress the hours of adventures from a video game’s lore into a 90-minute film. Michelle Yeoh is on a roll because not only did she get a lead role for Everything Everywhere

It was already going to take a while before we saw the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher, and now the pandemic has made the wait even longer. How can we pass the time, besides playing the video game again? Netflix has an idea….a six-part prequel spinoff miniseries that will reveal how the Witchers came to be in the first place! Oh, wait…since they’re just getting started now, it’ll be impossible to finish it before Season 2 appears in 2021. So much for the filler idea, but we’re still doing this. 1200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be.
