Game Of Thrones Showrunners Talk The Wall Falling
For Game of Thrones fans, the Season 07 finale was truly something to be hold, both from a lore standpoint, and from an action standpoint. The end of the season brought forth Jon Snow’s real name, a deep betrayal by Ceresi, a certain…connection between Jon and Daenerys, and the big shocker at the end…the falling of The Wall. The Wall was what separated Westeros from the land of the Whitewalkers, and at the end of the episode, the resurrected dragon that was shown last episode came down and tore a big chunk of it down, allowing the dead to enter the land of the living. For the showrunners of Game of Thrones though, this moment was known years ago: “For many years now we’ve known this would be the ending of the penultimate season,” Benioff revealed during the finale’s “Inside the Episode” segment. “The wall’s kept these things out for eight thousand years and there’s no really reason it can’t keep doing that unless something puts a hole in the wall,” D.B.
