We really wish we didn’t have to report this, but Jeff Bezos just did another horrible thing and cancelled Amazon Video’s The Tick after just two seasons.
Fans of the new Tick series on Amazon have to be a patient bunch. The pilot episode was released in 2016, followed by the first few episodes of Season One a year after the show was picked up. It is only now that the remaining handful of episodes are about to premiere, and on that occasion, Amazon has announced a second season renewal….for 2019.
The Tick debuted on Amazon Prime in August, and it was well received by many. The second half of the first season is set to arrive in February, and at New York Comic Con, the cast and crew talked about the show and what fans can look forward to.
The Tick made his triumphant return via a series via Amazon Prime earlier this year. But the back half of its season was pushed into 2018. Now, via New York Comic Con, we have gotten an official release date via a new poster:
Amazon has released a new trailer for its upcoming new live-action TV reboot for The Tick. You can check out the new video for the upcoming series in the player below. Based on Ben Edlund’s comic book of the same name, the show later became a hit animated TV series that lasted for three seasons on Fox Kids. It later became a short lived but well-liked live-action TV series in 2001, starring Patrick Warburton as the titular character. Now, the dimwitted blue superhero gets revived with a new live-action TV series exclusively for Amazon Prime.
The Tick is easily one of the oddest superheros in existence, meant as a parody, he’s loved by fans, and has now two live-action adaptations of the character. The most recent of which has gotten a full season order from Amazon Prime.
It’s official, The Tick is coming back to TV. Amazon Studios officially announced today that blue superhero is making a comeback in a live-action TV series for Amazon Prime. The show is slated to debut in early 2017 for Amazon Prime members.
The world today is full of superhero stories, from TV, to video games, to movies, they’re everywhere. And they cover a wide array from characters. From government agencies, to singular heroes, to team-up shows. Easily one of the most interesting heroes ever made though is The Tick. Which ironically had not only a cartoon series, but a live-action series as well.
