The One Ring’s Latest Expansion Is Out Today
Free League’s tabletop RPG The One Ring, set on Toklien’s Middle Earth, is now even bigger than before. The second expansion to the game was released today: Tales From The Lone-Lands. Everything you need is contained in an illustrated hardback with the material for six new adventures. They’re malleable enough to be played individually, or as chapters of a larger story. Now they had gone on far into the Lone-lands, where there were no people left, no inns, and the roads grew steadily worse. Not far ahead were dreary hills, rising higher and higher, dark with trees. On some of them were old castles with an evil look, as if they had been built by wicked people. Free League also publishes a 5E-compatible version of The One Ring that goes by a different title (Lord of the Rings Roleplaying); this expansion is also being released for that version, but again, under a different title. There it’s called “Tales From Eriador.” Why, who knows. It’s a Carl’s Jr / Hardees situation.
