In The Iron Oath, players will be able recruit and manage the contracts of a guild roster in-game. The game has timespans that can last for centuries, and guilds will lose characters to death, retirement, and even mismanagement. With this in mind, players can recruit new characters for a guild by visiting city hubs in the game world. At a tavern, players will find a list of available adventurers in the city for recruitment. Players can recruit these characters by class, age, experience and contract expectations. Players can opt to recruit more seasoned or higher-ranked characters for a guild over recruits who are younger and more green to the career. In the latest update from developer Curious Panda on Kickstarter, the latest stretch goal was revealed for the upcoming RPG The Iron Oath. The other stretch goals were revealed across the marks of $65K, $70K, and $85K. The next stretch goal revealed today is the $85,000 one, which bodes for some impressive customization choices for players. Previously, the game reached its initially funding goal of $45,000. Now, it has a new stretch goal the project is aiming for at the mark of $65,000. $65,000 means the game will have Sea Travel and Encounters. If it makes the $70,000 stretch goal, the game will have an “acquire your own vessel feature.” And now at $85,000, players will get the chance to have multiple skins, hairstyles, helmets and races to choose from in the game. The game is now past its initial funding goal and looks to hit its Guild Council stretch goal. And it only needs about $7,000 to hit the next stretch goal. In the new update, Curious Panda revealed new details on the game’s resource management for missions. Players in the game can collect items, and each item has a capacity value, and there is only limited bag space to carry items. There are Health potions, which can range from small to very large in size. These items will restore health. The Elixirs will grant characters various buffs in the game, condition immunities or damage resistances.  There are Antidotes to cure poisons and grant temporary immunities. There are bandages that can cure the bleed condition from injuries. The Salves cure burn damage. Lock-picks can be used to unlock doors or chests players cannot get into. For the Grappler Class in The Iron Oath, these are warriors who work well in close quarters combat, using both their minds and reflexes as weapons. They wear cloth armor, so they can be somewhat vulnerable. However, the Grappler Class warriors are good at blocking and countering attacks, and then thy can slip into a meditative trance when they are wounded in order to heal their bodies. Grappler Class also has the Crippling Force, which cuts through the air with fists and releases a shockwave at enemies. This will damage and stun enemies for one round. A new project update was posted on Kickstarter for the upcoming turn-based tactical RPG by Curious Panda that is The Iron Oath. The new update include information on damage, resistances, vulnerabilities, and conditions within the game. You can find the full update notes at the above link. According to the developer, the game will have the following 11 damage types: Earth(Nature), Force, Fire, Frost, Holy, Dark, Necrotic, Lightning, Slashing, Piercing & Blunt. Most of the in-game classes will have only one damage type. The hybrid classes, like Paladin and Pyrolancer, previously had two types of damage, but they now only have one for balance and clarity. Additionally, every class and enemy in the game has one Defense Stat that will determine the base damage mitigation within the game. Characters that wear heavy armor and have higher Constitutions will also have a greater Defense. Both block and dodge are going to be rolled into the same Evasion stat.
