The Evil Within: New Video Offers First Look at The Consequence

Bethesda Softworks recently offered the first look at the next piece of story downloadable content for Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within. The first teaser video for The Consequence is available in the player below. The Consequence will continue the events from The Assignment, which was part one of Juli Kidman’s adventure during the events of The Evil Within. The DLC finally got started with answering a lot of the lingering questions left over after the release of the main game last year. It was revealed that Kidman is actually a double-agent for a nefarious organization named Mobius. Mobius appears to be the true villain and party pulling the strings behind the scenes of the first game. In short, Mobius works as The Evil Within universe’s version of the Umbrella Corp. The new teaser features Kidman walking across a metal catwalk in what appears to be a nightmarish hallucination. A light from the end of the tunnel or corridor flashes and a scream is heard. The Evil Within: The Assignment Official Trailer Released

Bethesda Softworks has released the official trailer for the first upcoming DLC release for The Evil Within. The trailer for The Assignment is available below. In addition, Bethesda provided The Paranoid Gamer with details for upcoming DLC expansions, The Assignment and The Consequence. The trailer features some new gameplay footage for the game expansion, which puts players into the role of the mysterious Juli Kidman from the initial game release. Kidman was posing as a junior detective working with protagonist Sebastian Castellanos. However, she appeared to be working for a shadowy, clandestine organization behind the events of the game. The trailer reveals the name of the organization is Mobius, and they task Kidman with retrieving Leslie Withers. Juli Kidman will be the playable character in the next DLC release, The Consequence. Both The Assignment and The Consequence will feature stories concurrent to the main campaign from The Evil Within and will show Kidman’s whereabouts when she was not present during the story. The Evil Within: The Assignment DLC Gets a Short Teasing Preview

For survival horror and Shinji Mikami fans avidly awaiting the new story DLC follow-up to the new hit game, The Evil Within, you are slightly in luck. Bethesda Softworks has released a very short preview video for the first upcoming DLC for The Evil Within, The Assignment. The new preview video is available below. Details for the DLC have so far been pretty slim, so the video does provide what appears to be some actual footage from The Assignment. It appears that a character, possibly Juli Kidman from the game, is hiding in a locker from a strange creature that appears to be looking for “Leslie.” The Leslie the creature is referring to is likely Leslie Withers, a mental patient from the institution from the game, who the villain Ruvik also happened to be after. The story of the game was very vague at times and left a lot of questions unanswered. Hopefully, The Assignment will do well in answering some of those lingering questions from the end of the

Good survival horror games are hard to come by. While there have certainly been some excellent additions to the genre in recent history, far more games miss the mark than those who actually manage to hit it. Expectations for The Evil Within were high due to it being helmed by none other than Shinji Mikami, the man who essentially invented the genre with Resident Evil in 1996. But just how does it fare compare to his previous work? The tone for the entire game is set right from the very start. Your first gameplay moments see you enter a psychiatric hospital that has been subjected to a huge massacre. A creepy insane asylum is not exactly the most imaginative start to any horror story but the other locations you are transported too as you progress seem to be lifted from a beginners guide to your typical spooky settings. The Evil Within Rebirths The World of Survival Horror If you’ve been keeping up with the gaming scene, you might be aware of the new survival horror video game from Tango Gameworks and Bethesda Softworks. The new title is the new brainchild of game director Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series. The latter series is experiencing a bit of a decline at the moment and has seen better days. However, it appears that Mikami has given the world of survival horror another shot in the arm with the upcoming dark, macabre title The Evil Within. For fans like me, who loved the aesthetic of Resident Evil 4 and the way that game both reinvigorated and redefined the genre, The Evil Within could be right up your alley. Here’s what we know so far. In previous previews and the first look gameplay video released at last year’s E3, the game’s protagonist, Sebastian Castellanos, is a detective. Sebastian and his colleagues are called to a crime scene at a mental
