Disney Is Running Out Of Things To Remake
From the Eisner era onward, Disney hasn’t been above cheapening its legacy and history to chase an easy buck, whether it’s from making shoddy DVD sequels to their classics, or making unnecessary lifeless live-action remakes of those classics. The studio has now made so many of the latter cursed things that it’s running out of animated films to de-animate. They’re digging The Aristocats out of the vault now. The Aristocats was originally released in 1970 and was the last animated film Walt Disney himself had any input in. It’s about a family of French felines who live with a wealthy duchess who has just willed her entire fortune to them. The duchess’ butler gets angry over this and kidnaps the kittens, dumping them in the countryside so the duchess will give her money to him instead. The rest of the film is about those cats crawling back to the mansion to thwart his scheme, and meeting one singing weirdo after another. We expect the story to remain the same, even
