If you’re a JRPG fan, then Bandai Namco’s Tales series needs no introduction. But even if you are, you might be unfamiliar with the title “Tales Of Luminaria” and might be thinking, “When did THAT happen? Did I miss one?” Sort of….Tales of Luminaria is a mobile game. And go figure that of all the Tales games released by Namco in the last five years, Luminaria has to be the one to get its own anime. But just like the game, it’s free! Also, just like the game, it’s free up to a certain point. Namco has uploaded the first ten minutes of the Tales of Luminaria anime, which officially debuts tomorrow, to the Funimation YouTube page. Bandai Namco’s Tales series released its latest mainline chapter, Tales Of Arise, on Playstation 5 last September. If you’ve played it, and you’re itching for more, there are 16 more Tales games to track down among various systems going back 25 years…or, in a pinch, you could just download the new Tales Of Luminaria mobile game. Mobile games, we know, are quite different from console games in many ways. But even with in-app purchases crammed into the system, the heart of Tales is somewhere in Tales of Luminaria. The game contains an entirely new world and 21 unique characters to control, each with their own narrative in the story. In this world, prosperity is built by the “Mana” produced by the mysterious giant life form “Primordial Beasts” that transcends human knowledge.
