Nintendo Announces SNES Classic Edition System
It’s official. After months of rumors, Nintendo has confirmed the highly anticipated retro, mini Super Nintendo Entertainment System console. The new retro console is called the SNES Classic Edition, and you can check out the announcement tweet below. The new SNES Classic Edition is due out later this fall and will arrive in September. It will include over 20 games including the never-before-released Star Fox 2. You see, back in the 1990s, Nintendo released Star Fox on the SNES, and it was a huge hit. A sequel was developed for the SNES as well, and it was close to being finished. However, Nintendo then opted not to release it and scrapped the game. However, some ripped cart versions of Star Fox 2 have been circulated online for years. Now gamers will finally get to play a version of Star Fox 2 that is formally and officially released by Nintendo.
