The release of Warlander, an action RPG game from Clock Drive Games, has been pushed back several times, but we can finally say with confidence it’s available somewhere. As of today, it’s on Steam for $14.99. In Warlander, you’re a warrior resurrected as a weapon of pure destruction. Armed with a giant glowing sword, your fast reflexes and expert swordplay will make mincemeat out of all approaching monsters. Clock Drive describes Warlander as “Story-Driven” so there will be more to the plot than this, but the full narrative hasn’t been revealed. Cloudfire Studios has announced Starport Delta, a new real-time space strategy and management game, is heading to Steam this March. It’s all about space stations: first you’ve gotta build them, then you’ve gotta protect them. And a lot can go wrong in space. Alien pirates will try to steal resources from your station, meteor showers can suddenly appear and wreck buildings that aren’t properly fortified, space storms can wreak havoc with electrical power, there’s radiation in space to contend with, and if all that wasn’t enough….there are giant space worms. A properly built and maintained space station should be able to withstand such threats (even the worms, maybe). It’s all about strategizing and making the best of the resources you have. In 2017 the dev team Curious Panda crowdfunded the tactical turn-based RPG The Iron Oath. It was delivered to backers two years later, and has just received a fresh 2020 update. The Iron Oath contains a large, nine-region overworld that changes as you play (an average playthrough spans centuries of time…not literally). How the world fares depends on how you manage your guild. Management of resources and smart battle strategies are a necessity, and your characters will grow and change as the game progresses. The latest patch to The Iron Oath doesn’t include any radical gameplay changes. What it does do is revamp the animations a bit. Curious Panda explained further in their latest blog post… Hit Effects We’ve revamped all of the hit effects in the game for melee attacks, blood spatters and blocks. The effects we had previously been using were far too small and not stylish enough for our tastes, so we took a lot of inspiration from fighting games and we’re quite happy with the result.
