The Best Trailers From Sony’s PlayStation Showcase
Sony streamed over an hour’s worth of new trailers and gameplay footage from upcoming Playstation 5 titles this afternoon. The reveals ranged from “awright” to “meh,” so we’ve cherry-picked the few we found the most interesting… The presentation got off to a slow start with several bland-colored shooters revealed in a row, but the first real splash of color belonged to Neva, an upcoming game from the makers of the award-winning GRIS. They don’t seem to have lost the touch; this trailer was more like an animated short designed to give its viewers the maximum feels. Great animation too. Square’s biggest offering was what we THINK will be the final trailer for Final Fantasy XVI (the thing’s due out in a month, after all). But before then, they wanted to show us this Splatoon ripoff they’re working on where players use foam instead of paint. Is that enough of a difference?
