New Smash Bros Update Goes Live Friday
On July 31st the next firmware update will be applied to both the 3DS and the Wii U versions of Smash Bros. In addition to the usual tweaks and bug repairs, this update is anticipated to add all the features Nintendo has hyped in past Nintendo Directs and at E3. Nintendo promised back in June that some retro battle stages would be making new appearances in both games. On July 31 that happens: the Kirby’s Dream Land stage, the original Hyrule Castle stage and the Peach’s Castle stage, all from the original N64 game, will be added to the roster as DLC (and yes, you will have to pay this time: $1.99 a stage, or $2.99 a stage to get it on both platforms at once). One new feature that will be free is the long-overdue ability to instantly upload your Smash replay videos to YouTube.
