Sid Meier's Starships Zooming Out for 2015 Release
2K Games and Firaxis Games have officially announced that the new turn-based strategy game from Sid Meier, Starships, is due out later this year for Windows PC, Mac and iOS. In addition, 2K Games released a new announcement trailer, featuring the game’s opening cinematic intro sequence, which is available below. The game is a companion piece to Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth and is set in the same universe. The game is set after the age of the Seeding. Starships will be a standalone experience that offers cross-connectivity with Beyond Earth. Players will be able to go to new worlds and participate in missions to save and protect planets and their inhabitants from Space Pirates, Marauders and various hostile factions. Players will be able to build a planetary federation in order to strengthen their fleet and secure their homeworld. The game will have multiple paths to victory.
