Titanfall 2 Sales Struggle, Battlefield 1 Has Strong Launch
It seems like Titanfall 2 will fail to meet the expectations of publisher EA and analysts, with research firm Cowen & Company reporting that the sales projection for the game has been dramatically reduced since its release last week. According to the company, the shooter is only expected to sell around 5 million copies, a significant drop compared to its initial forecast, which was originally around the 9 million mark. This poor performance relative to estimates is despite the fact that the game has received a strong critical reaction, including a current Metacritic score of 91. The problem seems to be that the game has released sandwiched between Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
