The Shin Megami Tensei franchise is one that has gotten some serious legs in the last few years. And while it may have started as something found only in Japan, the West has contributed to its success as well. Many of its games have landed on the Nintendo 3DS, and Shin Megami Tensei V is in the works for the Nintendo Switch. But, if you’re looking for a solution that’ll have you playing quicker, you’re in luck. For Atlus revealed today that Shin Megami Tensei Liberation D X 2 is available now on Android and iOS systems. Here’s the synopsis for the game: Take on the role of a Devil Downloader, also known as Dx2s. Dx2s are able to summon and command demons using a special smartphone app. Led by a mysterious man, you gain this power yourself and become a member of the Liberators. As part of this secret organization that fights to protect the world, you find yourself caught up in a battle between opposing factions of Dx2s. Shin

It seems like 2013 is not a good year for game companies. We have yet another giant publisher going out of business and this time, it is all the way over from Japan. Persona/Shin Megami Tensei developer ATLUS‘ parent company, Index Corporation has recently filed for bankruptcy due to a debt of 24.5 billion yen (approximately 250 million USD).

Today Atlus released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei IV. The latest entry in the long-running Japanese RPG franchise is a 3DS exclusive and is set to release in North America on July 16th. As Atlus does have an excellent habit of doing for their bigger releases, pre-ordering will get you some extra special swag on release day in the form of a Limited Edition Box Set at no extra cost. It comes with a 176-page Strategy & Design Book produced by Prima Games, a Shin Megami Tensei Music Collection CD, and a “Collectible” Slipcase. Now I’m not one to put much stock in pre-order bonuses that take the form of free day-1-DLC downloads that have no business not just being in the game from the start, but I can always get behind free physical bonuses and swag. Atlus and Nintendo are developing a cross over game. Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, little to nothing is known about the title, besides the fact that two legendary series are about to come together.
