Sam Fisher Joining Ghost Recon: Wildlands In Splinter Cell Crossover

Although a new Splinter Cell game might not be on the horizon, fans of the show can get their Sam Fisher fix in Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Ubisoft has revealed that the Fourth Echelon operative is coming to the game in a rather substantial crossover. As part of Special Operation I, the first free piece of downloadable content that is coming to the title over the next few months, will bring across a range of new missions and items. The main draw is a new PvE level that sees the Ghost team having to assist Sam Fisher infiltrate an enemy base. It’s interesting to note that Michael Ironside will once again be voicing Fisher. The mission is stealth based, as you might have expected, and is said by the developer to be much more difficult than many of the missions in the title. Rumor Suggests New Splinter Cell In The Works

Reports over the last few hours seem to indicate that Ubisoft may be working on a brand new Splinter Cell game. Not only that, but the rumor also suggests that veteran voice actor Michael Ironside will be returning to voice the protagonist and lead character Sam Fisher. The information came from a NeoGAF member who has previously been reliable with releasing accurate data about what the French publisher is working on. According to a well-placed source, Ironside has confirmed that he is working on a brand new Splinter Cell game and that he has been at Ubisoft’s Toronto studio several times. They also expressed disappointment that the game wasn’t shown at E3, suggesting that this could be because it is very early in development. Recent times have been something of a revival for the Tom Clancy series of games. Ubisoft released Rainbow Six Siege last year and are currently developing Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. Ubisoft recently released a new trailer for the next installment in their long line of Tom Clancy games – Splinter Cell: Blacklist.  Check ‘er out below. With it’s release date announced back in January, our next traipse in the persona of Sam Fisher could easily have slipped anyone’smind since.  This trailer successfully reminds us of all those questions we’ve been asking since we first caught word of the game last summer:  Will it be more fast, action attacks like Conviction, or a return to the hardcore stealth of early installments?  Can I pick up corpses again?  Well, if not, do we at least get some of our gadgets back?  How old is Sam now, and can I look that good when I’m his age?
