Quantum Break Videos Explore Time Travel

Xbox and Remedy Entertainment revealed some new videos this week for the upcoming long awaited release of Quantum Break. After many years, the game’s release is finally happening next week. The new videos feature all live-action footage, showcasing the characters of the world of Quantum Break. It will be interesting to see how Remedy’s experiment with the show as it experiments with both a very theatrical-style game along with a live-action TV series that’s built into the events of the game. The first video features actor Dominic Monaghan as Dr. William Joyce in a found footage style video. In the video, Joyce is testing a prototype time machine. Obviously, things do not go well. He seems to share a name with the hero of the game, Jack Joyce (Shawn Ashmore). This could likely mean that William Joyce is either Jack Joyce’s father or brother. Alan Wake's Return Is Not a New Video Game

Late last month, news leaked online that Remedy Entertainment had registered a trademark and domain name for “Alan Wake’s Return.” This gave fans hope that perhaps Remedy was finally making a return to the Alan Wake franchise for a long awaited follow-up. Unfortunately, that no longer appears to be the case. Remedy had never publicly closed the door on an Alan Wake sequel either. However, Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake told Kotaku UK has nothing to do with a new game. It’s being done as an in-game video series for Quantum Break. Specifically, throughout Quantum Break, in-game TV screens will have “live-action mini-episodes,” starring Lake, for Alan Wake’s Return. Lake stated: “A big part of the trademarking process all in all is the legalities of it. Just making sure everything is covered. So, there’s no real news about anything future Alan Wake-related.” The good news? Lake and Remedy still are open to a return to the franchise. Is Remedy Developing a New Alan Wake?

Fans have wanted to see some sort of follow-up to Remedy Entertainment’s acclaimed Alan Wake for quite some time. However, a user on NeoGAF has uncovered a hint at would be the long-awaited sequel to Alan Wake. On the European Trademark Database, a trademark was discovered for the title Alan Wake’s Return. According to the entry, it was filed by Remedy Entertainment on February 23 of this year. This could be the hope that gamers have wanted for years that a follow-up is on the horizon. Perhaps Alan Wake Returns is a possible title or at least working title for the game. The same user also discovered that the website alanwakereturns.com was also registered in 2015 by the same proxy as other domains owned by Remedy. It was also noted that the end of the second DLC for Alan Wake had a bit of an Easter egg. Quantum Break: Limited Edition Bundle Revealed

Remedy Entertainmant and Xbox officially revealed this week the details for an upcoming limited edition bundle for the game along with a new gameplay trailer for the game. You can check out “The Cemetery” trailer for Quantum Break in the player below. You can also check out an image of the limited edition console bundle release. The special bundle features a Cirrus White 500 GB Xbox One console, full game downloads of Quantum Break and Alan Wake and a Cirrus White controller. The bundle is available for pre-order at this link for $349.99. Also, The Signal and The Writer DLC for Alan Break are also included. This is a pretty ambitious project for Remedy, and the release is a long-time coming. Not to mention, it looks the game went through a ton of changes in the development process. Quantum Break Delay Rumored by Xbox Elite Team Writer

Some recent posts on Twitter by Xbox Elite Team writer, Dae Jim, suggested that the highly anticipated new Xbox One exclusive video game, Quantum Break, could be delayed from its scheduled 2015 release. Jim’s current user description on Twitter says he is “Doing several gaming related stuff, big knowledge for #Xbox and… #cats. Writer for Xbox Elite Team.” However, his profile previously listed him as Xbox’s Dutch Community & Social Media Coordinator before this story broke out and caught like wildfire. Dualshockers reports that Jim later removed the “Dutch Community & Social Media Manager at Microsoft” label from his profile description. Jim initially wrote on his account: “Got some bad news #Xbox gamers, #QuantumBreak is likely delayed, coming early 2016!” He later said, “That said, I’m not confirming it. It might release next week for all I know. As we near the end of the year, we look back at all the great games that came out, but we also prepare and anticipate for next year. 2014 had some amazing games, and it was even the first year for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Another year of gaming is here, and we’re going to list our top ten most anticipated games of 2015.
